Blogiversary Giveaway with Chronically Vintage

Whoohoo! My little blog has reached the grand old age of two!! Can you believe it? I certainly can’t. I cannot tell you the times when I considered giving up, particularly during times when work seemed to be taking over my life. But I stuck with it for many, many reasons, far too many to get into here (although I may do a separate post on it one day). But the main reason I did is you. Yes, you! The person reading this right now.

Each and everyone of you who has visited my blog has made a difference in my life. Every time someone clicks on the Like button at the bottom or shares a post or a photo on their social media profiles it makes me smile. Every single wonderful comment has truly touched me and I love interacting with you all and getting to know you. I honestly love knowing that I have so many like-minded friends out there, even if we’re not in the same part of the world as each other. So, as a big thank you I have got several fantastic giveaways lined up for you all over the next few weeks.

Jessica at Chronically Vintage

The first prize has very kindly been offered by the truly inspirational Jessica Cangiano at Chronically Vintage who not only has her own blog but also runs her own vintage business via Etsy. The store shows off Jessica’s love for all things old with a wide variety of clothing, jewellery, craft supplies & collectibles, spanning the Victorian era to the 1980s. Of course, there is a nod to the mid 20th Century, the era Jessica explores passionately in both her blog and own unique style. Honestly, I don’t know how she fits it all into her day!

Now, I’m sure many of you know and love Jessica as she is a huge part of the vintage blogging world and tirelessly supports so many of us all around the world. I’m so honoured that she continues to support mine and I am proud to count her amongst my wonderful online friends. You can probably tell that I am just so thrilled that Jessica agreed to be the first sponsor of my blogiversary giveaways.

So, ‘what’s the prize?’ I hear you scream!

One lucky winner will get an amazing $50 (approx. £35) store credit to spend at Chronically Vintage on Etsy!* And, not only that, Jessica is offering every single one of you a special 30% off coupon code until the 20th of March. All you have to do is add the code VintageGal30 during checkout to qualify.

As much as I’d love to win, I’m sure it wouldn’t be ethical of me to enter my own competition :). So, instead I’ve put together a few of my favourite items from the store below to give you an idea of what you could spend your money on if you win.

1950s yellow bangle

This gorgeous mid-century semi see-through plastic bangle is an absolute must in my new favourite colour yellow to add some bright summery fun to any outfit.

1940s rust cardigan

Jessica’s currently adding lots of new clothing to the shop and this dark pumpkin colour cardigan would be perfect over a 1950s circle dress or teamed with a pair of 1940s wide leg trousers.

Pale blue Flapper necklace

I adore this long pale blue and clear beaded necklace. It would look amazing with lightweight 1920s dresses during the spring and would equally work perfectly doubled up for a more 1950s look.

1930s bakelite buttons

These are my absolute favourite item in the store, a set of three oversized dark brown Bakelite buttons in a lozenge shape. I could just imagine them adorning a 1920s or 30s coat.

1950s pastel brooch

And how gorgeous is this 1950s pastel floral brooch? It makes me think of Easter with its light blue, pink and yellow colours, so it would be perfect for this time of year.

1950s embroidered dress

This stunning tulle embroidered 1950s prom dress literally sold as I was writing this but I still wanted to include it because, I mean seriously, how incredible?!!

1940s snakeskin bag

The colour of this genuine snakeskin is truly amazing! It’s just so vivid. Can you imagine the lady who originally owned this? I bet she was one classy lady.

So, now you’ve got some ideas, let’s get on with it. To enter all you have to do is go to the Chronically Vintage store on Etsy, have a look around and then post a comment below to tell us your favourite item. Once you’ve done that you can continue on with the bonus entires. Good luck!

a Rafflecopter giveaway

*The giveaway will run from today, 6th March 2016, until midnight 13th March 2016 and is available worldwide. The winner will be drawn and notified via email within 3 days of it finishing.
The $50 store credit must be used in the Chronically Vintage store within three months from the date the winner is drawn. The winner will need to make a single transaction purchase (for one or multiple items) totalling at least $50.00 USD. Chronically Vintage will then promptly refund $50.00 USD of the total purchase price. Shipping costs, taxes, import charges, or the cost of additional items over and above $50.00 will not be refunded.

  1. Sweet Cate, thank you for your incredibly kind, beautiful words and for involving my shop and I in your blogiversary celebrations. It is an honour to help you mark this milestone and to have been able to follow your awesome – and immensely inspiring – site for much of its life.

You passion shines through in all that you do and I’m sincerely happy that you resisted the urge to throw in the towel. The vintage blogging world is definitely a richer, more stylish place because you’re a part of it.

Huge thanks & happiest 2nd blog birthday wishes!
    ♥ Jessica

    • Aw shucks, Jessica, you’re making me blush! Thank you so much for sweet words and for being part of my 2nd anniversary. xx

  3. Happy Blog Birthday! I always enjoy reading your posts so I am glad that you haven’t stopped writing! I like so many things in Jessica’s shop but the deer cross stitch apron and the crochet clutch are two favourites.

  4. Congratulations on two years of blogging! May you write for many, many years to come! 🙂

    • Oh yes, I rather liked that too. We used to make one very similar at Past Times which was silver and marcasite. I didn’t know the Queen had one though, but then I bet you know her entire jewellery collection ! xx

      • I wish! Her basket brooch was from her parents when Charles was born, so she often trots it out on significant family occasions. But there’s loads in the vault that’s never been seen – people still speculate on what was in the Greville bequest, and that was originally left to the Queen Mother. I’m pretty sure it includes an unseen tiara…

  5. Happy 2nd Birthday!! You’ve done great things in a short time. I will have a look at the prize draw thingy later, but off to a training day now for work!
    xx
