One of my favourite vintage reproduction websites to peruse is Revival-Retro.com. I could spend hours going through all of their fabulous dresses, separates and shoes and wishing I could afford some it. They sell both men’s and women’s clothing all in styles from the 1920s up to the 1940s and stock brands such as Stop Staring and ReMix, which, if you’ve come across them before, you will know are quite expensive. However, Revival Retro are relocating to a new premises and have started a ‘Relocation Sale‘, both in store and online, where they are selling off some of their end of lines at a knock down price. Yes! So this week’s Wednesday Wish List is a selection of items from their tempting sale but, if you want to buy any of them, be quick as sizing and stock is limited.
I’ve seen this Stop Staring Belinda Dress in navy and tan quite a lot on vintage blogs and even on TV. It’s a simple, very wearable, 1940s style dress which hangs beautifully and gives a flattering and authentic silhouette. It’s been reduced from £189 down to £129 and is now only available in size 10 and 12, although I have no idea if these would fit me because there seem to be no size guides on the site at all.
How summery is this Cynthia Dress? I don’t normally go for yellow but this really caught my eye. Made in 100% cotton, it’s covered in bright yellow flowers which are highlighted with a deeper brown and finished with bright green stalks. The shape is very 1950s and I can just imagine Joan swinging her hips in this as she enters the Mad Men office. It’s been reduced by a whopping £100, from £249 to £149.
I love this Helena Dress, it’s got that real sexy secretary look about it. The beautiful detailing of the large bow on the deep neckline automatically draws your eyes to the wearers cleavage, and the ruched gathers across the hips accentuate the curves, whilst the flat panel down the front smooths the tummy. This is ingenious dress technology! It’s been reduced from £189 down to £119.
This Pretty Pink Vintage Pencil Skirt is so cute. It’s the sort of item I’d get a lot of wear out of as it can be mixed and matched with all sorts of tops and jackets to create a simple casual outfit or a more formal one. It has been reduced from £95 down to £45, so it’s an absolute bargain!
I’ve looked at this gorgeous Princess style wool coat a few times before on the Revival Retro website as I really struggle with finding decent vintage or vintage style coats (see my Searching for the Perfect Vintage Spring Coat post!). This one, though, would be perfect for wearing over the top of circle skirts and dresses in the winter and now, as it’s been reduced from £295, is just a little bit more affordable at £175. They also have it available in the sale in pink if you wanted something a little more girlie.
Perfect for those hot sunny days (whenever they get here!), these Fancy Me Coral Sandals by Poetic License would go beautifully with a tiki dress to create a unique summer outfit. These particular sandals are available in coral and brown or yellow and navy and are both reduced from £75 down to £45.
Revival Retro Shop
I went to the current Revival Retro shop in Kingly Court, London a couple of years ago and loved looking around it but it was quite small and the stock was limited. Their new shop, which opens in June, will be in Windmill Street, Fitzrovia, just five minutes walk from Tottenham Court Road tube station which is at the end of Oxford Street. It promises to be larger, hold more stock in more sizes and easier to find, as it is on street level rather than tucked away on the top level of a rather secluded shopping court. I will definitely be heading there the next time I’m in London. I just need to save up some money first!
