Surprise Record Stash!

My parents turned up at my house on Saturday with a dusty old record case that my cousin decided he no longer wanted. I was the first person he thought of who might like it due to my own ever-increasing record collection. When I saw it I thought for certain that it would be full of albums I had absolutely no interest in, after all he was a teenage boy during the 1970s. I had imagined bands like AC/DC, Motorhead and Black Sabbath, perfect for 70s teenage angst!

Thankfully for me, I was pleasantly surprised by his taste. Inside the case was nearly 40 albums by bands such as Blonde, Simon & Garfunkel, Abba, The Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac and Joni Mitchell. As you can see in the picture below I am now the proud owner of classics such as Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon & Garfunkel, Rumours by Fleetwood Mac, American Pie by Don McLean and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road by Elton John.

I cannot wait to play all of these and transport myself back to a time when long hair, flares and platforms were the norm, when the UK was in political turmoil and Top of the Pops was the musical highlight of week.
