Wishing You All A Very Merry Christmas!

1930s Christmas

I did have a very different post all planned for this week but both work and personal time have suddenly become insanely busy and the week has just run away from me, so please accept my apologies. This will be my last post for a little while as I’m going to take a well-earned break from the blog over Christmas but I promise I will be back in the New Year. I will still be around on social media and, of course, catching up with my favourite blogs, so you won’t get rid of me that easily!

For now I just want to say a massive thank you to each and every person who chose to stop by my little blog over the past year and to those of you wonderful people who took the time to leave a comment. Honestly, it surprises me every single time. I’ve made some amazing friends, some I have now met in person (and I hope to meet more of you next year!) and some who I have chatted to online thanks to the power of email and social media. It’s amazing to finally find some like-minded people who have the same passions as me as some times I feel like the only vintage gal in the village. So thank you, you beautiful lot!

I will leave you now with a small selection of my favourite Yule time illustrations from the 1920s and 30s to enjoy. Merry Christmas to you all! xx

  1. Thank you Cate,
I have really enjoyed your blog.

    • Thank you Desley! It was lovely to meet you in Puriton. Have a wonderful Christmas xx

  2. Merry Christmas to you, Cate! I hope you have a splendid Christmas.

  3. Goodness, can I relate! December has proven to be not only the busiest month of this year, but one of the most harried in the last several years – and we haven’t even reached Christmas yet (though to be fair a decent amount of the things keeping me so busy actually have little to do with Christmas or New Year’s, specifically).

This is such a chic, lovely selection of yesteryear holiday images. Thank you for both it and every inspiringly awesome entry you’ve shared with us here this year.

From my heart to yours, happiest holiday season wishes!
    ♥ Jessica

    • Thank you for your lovely words, as always, Jessica. I hope things have started to calm down for you now and you can relax and enjoy the last few days of the run up to the big day. I hope you and yours have a wonderful Christmas and new year. xx

  4. Merry Christmas lovely! Absolutely game for a meet-up next year, have a fab rest and a super start to 2016 xx

    • And to you my dear! Thank you very much for the card, I keep telling everyone that it says Merry Christmas in Welsh on the front!! xx

  5. What beautiful festive images! I totally understand where you are coming from on blogging, it has given me a bit of a lifeline, as a shy and awkward person it has helped me find a wonderful friendly community which I feel I can be a part of! The meeting people bit is something I’ve not yet managed, but I am working on it 🙂
I hope you have the merriest of Christmases and a fantastic start to 2016! xx

    • Well, if you ever want to meet up I’ll be very happy to do so. I’m always up for a bit of vintage shopping or afternoon tea! My friend loved her brooch by the way. She absolutely adored the name and said that she was thinking about getting another Scottie (she already has one called Angus!) and would definitely call it Douglas if she did.

      Have a wonderful Christmas! xx

  6. Lovely images, I am particularly taken with the the first and the last. Also, those cocoon type 1920’s coats look awfully cosy. Merry Christmas, have a fabulous festive time.
